An expert independent automotive organization released its list of cars that offer the best value. For the first time in four years, the Honda Fit is no longer at the top of the list.
The organization chose the Toyota Prius as the car with the best value because it offers reliability, low cost of ownership and popularity. The editors also liked the great driving experience, fuel economy and interior design.
Cars were rated in their respective categories. The winners were the Lexus RX in Luxury SUVs, Toyota Highlander in Midsized SUVs, Honda CR-V in Small SUVs, Toyota Prius v in Wagons, Mini Cooper in Sporty Cars, Cadillac CTS in Luxury sedans, Acura TSX in upscale sedans, Toyota Camry Hybrid in Family sedans, Toyota Corolla in Small sedans and Toyota Prius in Small hatchbacks.
Other trends predicted by the automotive experts include poor values on luxury cars because of high prices and risk of costly maintenance. They suggest spending less on a family car or SUV instead.
