Fall Fun in Charleston

From football games to pumpkin carving and haunted attractions, there are plenty of events for loads of fall fun.

It’s that time of year again; the time when the leaves are changing, the kids are knee-deep in homework, and you just can’t wait to while away your weekends watching the game with friends and family.  With fall comes a number of events and occasions for everyone to enjoy, and here at Mama’s Used Cars, we’d like to take a moment to point you in the right direction for some ideal fall fun!

SCIWAY has a complete updated calendar of festivals and events taking place all throughout South Carolina in October.  Get a delicious gyro at the Charleston Greek Fall Festival, enjoy the rides at the South Carolina State Fair, or mellow out at the South Carolina Jazz Festival; there is no shortage of family fun to be had all around The Palmetto State this October.

Football fans can make their way down to Williams-Brice Stadium to cheer on the Gamecocks in home games against Kentucky (Oct. 5), Mississippi State (Nov. 2), Florida (Nov. 16), Coastal Carolina (Nov. 23), and Clemson (Nov. 30).  If you’re lucky, you just might find yourself in the stands when Jadeveon Clowney levels another hit to rival the now-infamous Outback Bowl annihilation.

If you’re looking to drink in all the colors of fall, take a foliage tour along the Cherokee Foothills National Scenic Highway, where history, hiking, and adventure await.   Visit the “Pretty Place” atop Standing Stone Mountain or behold the majesty of Whitewater Falls, but be sure to do it soon; the second-through-fourth weeks of October are considered peak foliage time.

Get a unique perspective on the history of Charleston with any one of a number of ghost tours that explore exciting locales such as a Pre-Revolutionary dungeon in the hopes of spotting a spectre.  Or if you’re in the mood for a bit more theatricality in your scares, why not try one of South Carolina’s famous haunted attractions, including Deceased Farm, Scream Acres, or Midway Wicked Woods?  Either way you go, it’ll be a dead exciting time!
